Instructions can be hard to write, but Natalie Ray is a talented teacher with an easy going style that makes you feel more like you are talking to a well-informed friend than a professorial techie. Ray is not heavy-handed with jargon or overly complicated with unnecessary detail. That being said, as someone who is relatively technically adept, I found the book quite complete with recommendations in areas that, if I had just gotten a Kindle Fire HD, I would want more information an instruction on. And, there were a few wonderful surprises that I would have probably overlooked; for example, the "Kindle Free Time" App in the Apps Library known as where you can do more than simply set a password up for your child.This is a handy little book, and even if you just get a new tip or two is worth the price to help you maximize your Kindle Fire HD investment.

I thought this book was like a good refresher course, always good to improve.
Also,you can always learn something new.
This Fire HD Manual was JUST what I needed! Got one of these for my birthday yesterday and was having a hard time figuring out everything - not anymore! This book covered all my questions and I'm feeling a lot more comfortable with my new device thanks to it!
There was some good information in this book, but it is not handy for quick reference, as there is no item index. Trying to guess which heading in the table of contents would contain the information I was seeking was a puzzle. Specifics would be useful. Some things about the Fire are not intuitive--I never would have guessed that to change the orientation from landscape to portrait, I should hold the device up in the air and physically turn it around!
This is a technical manual? This is nothing more than a pamphlet.
It didn't cover items like
Setting a password at the kindle level
Removing or deleting books, games, etc.
How to navigate
How this operating system works as it compares to Android, Windows or Apple.
I have a lot of issues and questions that I am still discovering, but it sure wasn't and isn't in this manual.
I read some other so-called user manuals, but this book gives you every thing you need to get familiar with the Fire HD if you're a first-time user. And does it by going straight to the point, without long tiresome explanations.
Seasoned users will probably not find anything new in there. But then again, it clearly states that it's for beginners.
If you know your inside and out, don't bother downloading this book. You won't find anything in there that you don't already know.
I got a Fire as a present and I was delighted. But now I wanted to learn how to use it and get the most possible use out of it. A friend of mine recommended the Fire HD Manual to me and I was so happy she did. This book has been a lifesaver for me it explains everything in such a clear way that it all falls into place. If there is something I don’t understand or have a problem with I can look it up in this guide and get my question answered straight away. This guide is a great help if you are a beginner to Fire and I highly recommend you get this book.
Actually everything you ever wanted to know about HD and more than you thought you wanted to know. This very well written, thorough guide will have you whizzing along setting up, testing, and enjoying all the fantastic features of your new HD, from downloading ebooks to audio books and videos, to syncing with your other devices to continue watching a video you started to view on your pc, to browsing the net, connecting with your emails and Skype, uploading and downloading apps and much more. And you thought phones were smart. Well done. Highly recommended.
